Port binding problem  Go to the Training: Net Ports challenge

Hi,

I can't bind to source (local) port 5 and any below 20 (1-19) -- "Connection timed out".
Maybe my ISP blocking these ports, because on my localhost (MyIP:5 -> MyIP:80) is working correctly.

So what can I do?

Try using curl.

With curl also not working local port range: 1-19.
$ <censorship>
curl: (7) Failed to connect to www.wechall.net port 80: Connection timed out

Censored and changed the challenge to port 42

Hi Gizmore, I used curl and managed to get the right port on my side but I can read in the curl output that your script doesnt recognize my userid, in the top of the output I can see I am logged in with my userid but at the table that solves the challenge it prints the following:

I am quite sure I am not logged as a guest, I already passed my user, pass and even cookie as parameters of curl, may you point me in the right direction please?, thank you!!

Nevermind, I was passing the cookie without its name, already done, thanks!

My ISP maybe block these ports.I tried as follows:
love0day@warchall ~ $ [CENSORED]
curl: (45) bind failed with errno 13: Permission denied
but love0day@warchall ~ $ [CENSORED]
will be ok.return like this:

Your current remote-port is <i>4200</i>.<br/>

So I know how to solve this chall,but I can't compete it.Can you change the port to 4200? thanks very much.

"Permission denied" is not an error that is the result of an ISP blocking stuff. So I'd say you actually don't really know how to solve it. ;)

but why I can control my local port to 4200 use that curl command ? 4200 and 42 do have some difference?
I have to login to love0day@warchall by SSH then execute that command to bypass the ISP's blocking.but I haven't the permission to use 42.
that is the bug of this chall.

Try researching a bit. Then make sure your ISP is really blocking it.
